Unhold

Dissecting elements from memory of a ‘swing’ at my grandparent’s petit home, also with the laborious process of bending each flat steel bar in a slightly precarious manner, Unhold aims to provide a sense of one’s particular bodily proportions and emotional engagement which deeply informs the artist’s thinking. Inspired by artist Do Ho Suh and his notion on making the ‘lived experience’ become visible, the bend marks echoes his idea, creating a new form of symbols while simultaneously evoking a sense of nostalgia.
